• Brain Injury

The Federal Government recognized the importance of vaccines, but needed to balance vaccine administration with the injuries that sometimes can occur. In response to addressing these competing interests, the United States Legislation established the National Vaccine Compensation Program or VICP. The VICP is a no-fault alternative to the traditional civil litigation for resolving vaccine injury claims that provides compensation to people found to be injured by certain vaccines. The compensation awarded comes from a VICP Compensation Trust Fund that is derived from a tax levied on vaccines.
